People's Square

People's Square 人民广场 Rénmín guǎngchǎng is located halfway along Nanjing Road. Once a racetrack where Westerners came to bet during the time of the Foreign Concessions, the place has changed a lot, becoming a square surrounded by enormous shimmering buildings and futuristic glass and steel towers.
