The swift strokes of Chinese calligraphy

Here are the different thrown strokes (*tiàoshùn* or *liùshù*) of the Liu style. For each stroke, an example of a Chinese character is provided. Each stroke in the character is numbered according to the stroke order, with the number placed at the beginning of the stroke.

Example: stroke no. 2:

Zuǒ (左): left

Example: stroke no. 1:

Rén (人): human being

Example: stroke no. 1:

Shì (仕): official / to serve

Example: stroke no. 4:

Jiān (肩): shoulder

Example: stroke no. 2:

Zhàng (丈): unit of measurement ≈ 3.3 meters

Example: stroke no. 3:

Fū (夫): husband
